Why I should of donated to Wikipedia

Wikipedia is one of the most visited websites in the world, and for good reason. It provides free and reliable information on almost any topic imaginable, from history and science to culture and entertainment. It is a collaborative project that anyone can edit and improve, creating a vast and diverse knowledge base for everyone to access.

But Wikipedia is not for sale. It is not owned by a corporation or a government. It is run by a nonprofit organization, the Wikimedia Foundation, that relies on donations from people like you and me to keep it running. Without our support, Wikipedia could not exist.

That’s why I decided to donate $3 to Wikipedia today. It may not seem like much, but if everyone who sees this message does the same, we can make a huge difference. We can ensure that Wikipedia remains free, independent, and accessible for generations to come.

I donated because I value Wikipedia as a source of information and education. I donated because I appreciate the work of thousands of volunteers who contribute their time and expertise to Wikipedia. I donated because I believe in the power of knowledge to change the world for the better.

If you feel the same way, I urge you to join me in supporting Wikipedia. You only had a 5% chance of seeing this message, so please don’t scroll past it this minute. This Wednesday, 13 September, I ask you to reflect on the number of times you visited Wikipedia in the past year, the value you got from it, and whether you’re able to give $3 back.

If you can, please click on the banner below and make a donation. It only takes a few minutes, and it will make a lasting impact. If you can’t, please share this message with your friends and family and encourage them to donate.

Together, we can keep Wikipedia alive and thriving. Thank you for your support.
